Life of Me: Resolve

by - January 02, 2013

I don't usually make New Year's resolutions, or at least not typical ones.

Instead of resolving to exercise more or lose weight, I try to set deeper, more spiritual goals for myself.

This year I resolve to not become jaded; to not lose my ability to see the good in the world, no matter how many sad or depressing stories cross my desk.

I resolve to be the best significant other I can be; to love my husband unconditionally and support him in all his endeavors.

I resolve to accept the things I can't control, change the things that need changing and learn to know the difference.

I wish a year full of love and happiness to each of you. What are your resolutions?

  1. My resolution is to keep my resolutions. Typically people make resolutions and forget all about them within a few days or weeks. Mine are similar to yours, Ashton but, at my age, I am also determined to stay as physically fit as possible. Like it or not that requires time, effort and discipline. If I only worked out when I felt like it I'd never work out. Therefore, one of my resolutions is to overcome inertia and just do it.

    1. I think I read somewhere that only 10% of people actually follow through with their New Year resolutions.

And good luck with overcoming inertia. I find it to be one of my biggest obstacles, as well. The couch is always calling my name!

  2. I like your approach to resolutions.

My resolutions are to be more of a doer than a thinker when it comes to people.

I think of people when someone passes but never mail the card. I think of people when they are sick but never stop by with chicken soup. Etc....

So I am going to strive to be more of a doer than just a thinker.

    1. I know what you mean. I always have stationary and cards, but I rarely use them.

  3. well those are some pretty awesome goals!

mine are a bit more mundane: eat healthier, exercise more, lose weight, save money, and have more fun. oh. and shop less! :)

    happy new year to you!

    1. I should probably join the 'shop less' resolution train. I just can't help myself. I love to shop!
