What I Wore the First 2 Weeks of April

It feels like I just posted one of these outfit roundups yesterday! How has it been two weeks already? Anyway...welcome to the first real outfit roundup of April, which technically includes the last three days of March (but who's counting?).

This roundup includes one week of teacher outfits plus a bonus weekend look that I would absolutely wear to school and three outfits from Spring Break (including a bonus outfit that Alexis wore), because let's be honest, I wasn't thinking about taking pictures of my daily outfits this past week.

We did have a brief dip back into cooler temperatures this week; think mid to upper 60s instead of low 80s. But I think we're probably done with the cooler weather now. Our forecast for the next week has a couple of 90-degree days in it!

Sizing info: I'm 5'2" and weigh about 140 lbs. I typically wear size 6 or s/m in clothes and size 7 in shoes.

This was actually a forgotten outfit from the last weekend in March. My husband and I had the day to ourselves. I can't remember everything that we did, but I do know that we walked through a few stores that we don't typically go in and we got ice cream that afternoon.

That weekend was pretty cool, and as you can see from the picture, this Sunday was rainy. I kind of regretted my outfit choice, to be honest, because my legs definitely got cold. This is one of the oldest dresses in my closet. I wear it a lot in the summer because it's easy and cool. This particular day, I added a white t-shirt underneath and then topped it off with my green flower cardigan. Because it was raining, I decided sneakers made the most sense, so I pulled out these old faux leather ones.

I picked up this dress on sale at Old Navy over the weekend and decided to wear it to work on Monday. The pattern is primarily blue, but there are green leaves, so I decided to match that with my shoes and cardigan. My cardigan is old, but I found one that is very similar.

The dress is a cotton-rayon mix. It has a nice little tie detail on the bodice. It is cut pretty slim, but the back of the skirt has a slit for ease of movement. I got this in a medium, and I'm glad that I did because of the slim fit. I don't think I would have liked it in a small, and I'm pretty sure it's going to shrink, so keep that in mind.

These green mary janes have been a go-to shoe for me lately. I love the little bit of whimsy they add to any outfit. I feel like the color is just unexpected and fun. They're also very comfortable, and I appreciate the special design of the buckle.

This was a fun outfit for a Tuesday. This skirt is really cute in person. It's the perfect length and has so many colors to play with. It's tiered and has just the right amount of twirl.

I still can't find this t-shirt online, so I linked to one that's close and in the same color. It came from Rural King if you're interested.

My cardigan is selling out, so if you like it, better act fast. I love it. It's super soft and adds a fun bit of whimsy to whatever outfit you pair it with.

These espadrilles are such a pretty yellow color. I'm surprised at how much I like them. You should know that they are very flimsy, definitely not meant for long walks, but they are okay for teaching. The footbeds are fairly soft and squishy. I'm not sure how I'm going to keep them clean, to be honest.

I just love this linen skirt so much. It's such a nice shade of blue and so easy to wear. This go 'round I decided that I wanted to wear it with this crochet vest. I tried several different color tees before landing on this light purple. I've had it for several years now, and the brand I bought it from doesn't have this color anymore, so I linked to a similar one.

My vest is still available in all sizes. It's adorable in person, y'all, and has lots of different colors woven into it that you can match it with. I'm still discovering its potential.

My shoes are the same as the green mary janes from earlier in the post. I got these blue ones first, and I love how much of a neutral they are. They've been a nice addition to my closet.

This dress that I bought on a whim last year has turned out to be so versatile. In the summer I wear it by itself all the time. The rest of the year I layer random things over the top of it. This go 'round I went with this brown sweater vest that a sweet coworker gifted to me. Since I don't know where it came from, I can't link the exact one, but it's essentially exactly the same as my red and light blue ones, so I'm linking to that for y'all.

These woven brown mary janes are going to get a lot of wear again this spring. They're holding up nicely for the price that I bought them at. I can't recommend this style of flat enough.

The Friday before Spring Break was a crazy one, and it really had nothing to do with the students. A construction crew cut through the cable that powers internet for the entire district! So we had no internet at all. Thankfully, I had already printed out what I needed, but my plan to have about 20 minutes of free time absolutely failed.

I still absolutely love this red polka dot skirt, especially now that I have a half slip to wear underneath it. I know I've mentioned it in other posts, but this skirt is completely sheer, so in the right lights you can see everything. It's so incredibly cute, though, and has been fun to mix and match in my closet. The slip that I ordered especially for this skirt is so cute, y'all, and it was really easy to wear. It's 100% cotton, so not that slick material a lot of other slips are these days. It's got pretty lace detailing on the hem and hits me right above my knee.

My sneakers are new. I ordered them to replace the sneakers in the first outfit. Those have seen a better day, and it was time (they were over 5 years old!). This time I wanted to go with a pair of canvas sneakers, and I really like these Rocket Dog ones. They're nice and squishy on the inside and have just the right amount of bulk. They were comfortable to wear all day in my classroom, too.
Sweatshirt (via Old Navy) | Tank | Jeans | Shoes | Bag

I don't remember which day of Spring Break this was; all I can tell you is that it was much cooler than I expected it to be, so when we went to grab dinner that evening, I put on this favorite bookstore sweatshirt that I really wish I could link to, but it's long gone. I really do like Old Navy's graphic sweatshirts, but they don't have anything similar to this one right now. But I did find a website full of fun bookish sweatshirts that has lots of awesome options. You can check those out here.

I did wear a ribbed, white tank top underneath the sweatshirt. I probably should give these tanks their own appreciation post. I own quite a few of them now. They're a great basic, especially for layering, and they're very affordable.

I hear flower jeans are all the rage these days. I've had these for awhile now, and they're still available. I did not pay very much for them, and they're on the thin side, but I wear them all. the. time.

Alexis's birthday almost always fall during Spring Break, and this year we decided to do a birthday beach day trip. We snapped this picture outside of the Gulf Coast Burger Co.'s Shake Shack, which is absolutely worth a visit if you're ever in Destin. Alexis's dress was a birthday gift from me and her daddy. It comes in two other patterns.

My dress is one that I had looked at online and didn't like, but then I saw it in person and actually really liked it. Online it felt very red, white, and blue, and I just wasn't feeling it. But in person, the red is more of a dark pink. It would definitely still work for the 4th of July, but it doesn't feel as over-the-top patriotic as I was expecting. I sized up to the medium, but I definitely could have worn the small. I do think it will probably shrink some in the wash; it's 100% cotton.

My sandals are from Old Navy last year. I found a pair that looks almost exactly the same on Amazon, so that's what I linked to. My sunglasses are new from Old Navy, but I guess they don't list those on their websites anymore? They're nice quality and were under $20, so I feel like I got a good deal on them.

We're ending with the day I got my hair chopped off short. I'd been thinking about it for about a year, so I decided to take the leap and just do it. And I love it.

This is actually the same dress as above, but in a paisley pattern. It's in a more earthy, natural color scheme, which I really like. I decided to add my denim vest over the top and fully button it to create a top and skirt look. Then I finished the look out with my yellow espadrille mary janes, as seen earlier in the post. I'm also linking my cats-eye, layered necklaces, which are still available and super cute.
