What I Wore the First 2 Weeks of March

The first two weeks of March have flown by! Not that I'm complaining. I don't think I've been this ready for a school year to end since I started teaching.

Welcome to the first official spring outfit roundup, although spring doesn't officially spring until next weekend. I've always considered March a spring month, and the weather where I live typically agrees and gives us some temperamental forecasts. I mean, the saying "March comes in like a lion..." is always relevant down here.

This roundup is full of early spring outfits as well as a few transitional pieces. Most of what I'm sharing in this post are things I'll continue wearing into the summer months and beyond.

Just like the last edition of this biweekly series, you can click on each picture to be directed to the full look in my LTK shop, or you can click on individual links for exact or similar items that you love. I try to post my outfits there each day, or within 1-2 days of wearing it, so it's a good place to keep up with anything new I might be wearing.

I'm also sharing my daily looks on my Instagram stories, which you can catch up on this highlight. Those also post to my Shop My Instagram page, which can be found under the Shop tab at the top of this page.

Sizing info: I'm 5'2" and weigh about 140 lbs. I typically wear size 6 or s/m in clothing and size 7 in shoes.

How amazing is this dress? When I saw it on a spur-of-the-moment trip to Sikes and Kohn, I knew it would be leaving with me. I have looked all over the place trying to find this online, but I can't. Sikes and Kohn doesn't have a webpage, and they never shared this dress on their socials.

Everything else I'm wearing is old. My cardigan is from Target a few years ago and is one of the softest things I own. Honestly, I'm not sure if it's blue or purple at this point. I treat it like it's blue, but my daughter insists it's purple. All I know is that it goes better with all my blue stuff than any of my purple stuff.

I layered the dress over a basic, light-blue tee that I've had for years. I'm pretty sure it came from Walmart. I only ever use it to layer with, and I wanted the option to take off the cardigan if I got too warm in my classroom, which I did around sixth period.

My light-blue flats are several years old, too. I have five colors of these exact flats in my shoe closet, but unfortunately I don't think this brand is still in business.

The first week of March is Read Across America Week, so of course I had to partake. In hindsight, I could have worn a reading shirt every day that week (I certainly have plenty!), but I didn't plan that far ahead.

I just got this cute "Support Your Local Library" graphic tee and knew exactly which skirt I needed to pair it with -- my most worn, most repaired, most versatile, favoritest purple floral skirt. Seriously, I bet if I went back through all my outfit posts, this skirt would win the title of most shared. It's certainly one of, if not the, oldest skirts in my closet, and I love it just as much today as I did when I first bought it.

This was Dr. Seuss's birthday, so the whole school participated. I, obviously, didn't wear jeans like everybody else (I really don't like teaching in jeans, y'all), but I had recently rediscovered my Reading Rainbow shirt and thought it would be perfect with this red polka dot skirt. I was right!

I know I've offered a word of caution about this skirt already, but I wanted to offer it again. It is very sheer. I don't have leggings layered under it this time -- it was way too warm for that on this day -- but I was extra picky with my choice of underthings. I didn't have any issues in terms of inappropriateness (trust me, someone would have said something), but you could definitely see where the shirt was tucked in.

This is one of my favorite outfits in this roundup. The cardigan is so stinking cute. I'm so glad I took a chance on it! It's soft and comfortable. The colors are vibrant. And it's good quality. I think it's the piece that ties this perfectly imperfect outfit together.

My graphic tee is actually new. I picked it up at Rural King just before we went to the state hog show, but it's not on their website. So if you like it, check your local store. Otherwise, I've linked to something kind of similar, and if you click on the actual picture, you'll see two other similar options. Unfortunately, none of them combine the color-text-smiley-face design.

My skirt is actually the exact same skirt as the purple floral skirt from earlier. This one is just as good, but a bit trickier for me to style. I wear it with a lot of black, but I'm trying to branch out.

I actually wore pants to work! I really like these ones, though. They're soft and stretchy, despite having a button-and-zipper closure, so they're easy to move around in -- i.e., not stiff and uncomfortable. I wasn't sure if I would like the patch pockets on the front, but I really do. They're an interesting detail. One note for y'all on these, though: they're cropped. I know they don't look it on me, but they absolutely are. For me, unless I specifically buy petite sizing, cropped pants fit me like ankle length, which is actually my preferred length.

I love a short-sleeved sweater for spring, and this one is so nice. It's a soft and thick material with just the right amount of stretch. I love the stripes, too. I don't know what led me to pair it with these yellow pants, but I love the result, especially with the brown accessories. The sweater is purple and navy blue, by the way, not black.

My favorite basket weave mary janes are back in rotation! I am still so glad I took a chance on these last spring. They just might be my favorite non-sandal warm weather shoe, especially to wear to school. My exact ones are not available any longer, but Target does have some other options available, which I'll link to above.

I wore this over the weekend to go to dinner with my husband after he got off work. Alexis was having a sleepover with grandparents, so it was just us. Mostly, I just wanted to be comfortable.

I had just gotten this baseball tee in, so I wanted to wear it. It's very oversized on me; the length is awkward for my height, but I don't care. I'm still going to wear it. Pairing it with these blue striped linen pants just made sense. My exact pants are no longer available, but Old Navy has a really similar pair right now.

My sneakers are actually one of my most versatile pairs. They add a bit of print mixing and personality without totally distracting from the rest of the look.

This was such a fun look for a Monday that I wasn't particularly looking forward to. The week after time change is so difficult, y'all, especially in a school setting.

I actually bought this skirt and tee with the intention of pairing them together. It's hard to tell from the picture, but the skirt does have navy blue in its pattern, but also, the shirt has every color represented in the skirt. It's very much a loud, colorful outfit, and I love it.

I just added several skirts in this style to my closet. I realized that I had gotten rid of all my shorter skirts because they were, in fact, too short for me to comfortably wear to school. So I needed some just-above-the-knee options. This one has an elastic waist with a functional tie waist. It's tiered and twirls nicely.

This blouse is so nice that I just got it in the green, too. It's so good for spring! I love this red floral print so much. It's got buttons all down the front and slight puff sleeves. It's loose but not oversized, more flowy. It's also the perfect length for me, which is rare.

I picked up my dress on a clearance rack. They only had it available in a large, and I'm glad I went with it since it shrunk in the wash and now fits like a medium. I tell you this because Old Navy still has the exact style of denim dress right now in other washes, so you might want to consider sizing up.

This is another favorite outfit from this roundup. I just love all the color, and this skirt is right up my boho-heart-loving alley. It's one of those just-above-the-knee skirts I told you I added to my closet to wear to work in warmer weather.

This skirt is a mix of floral and paisley patterns, put together in horizontal swatches to create tiers. It's got an elastic waist and came with a tasseled tie at the waist that was just for decoration. I'm not a huge fan of those, so I cut it off and gave it to the cat to play with. Now, I can more easily add a belt, which y'all know I love to do to create some proportions so I don't look quite so short.

I decided to keep the skirt the star of the show and paired it with this gorgeous pink eyelet blouse. It's such an elevated basic that I have it in a few colors now. It's nice quality and very comfortable. It feels like you're wearing a t-shirt all day, but it certainly doesn't look like it.

This is my favorite outfit of the bunch. I'm prepared to let this cardigan become my whole personality. That's how much I love it. By all accounts it shouldn't even be part of this outfit, but it's what makes the whole outfit in my opinion. This was such a good buy for me. It's amazing quality, soft wool with what is undoubtedly hand stitching, wooden buttons, and functional pockets. I am in love and resisting the urge to buy it in more colors. I love the navy blue and burgundy, too!

My skirt has made several appearances on the blog. It's one of those that went viral last year, and I still agree that they're worth the hype. I currently have two and absolutely love them. My chambray blouse is very old; I don't even remember where I got it at this point, but I linked to one that I would buy to replace it whenever I finally wear it completely out. My belt is pretty new and still available. I love the boho vibe that it adds to any outfit I wear it with.

Finally Friday and another of my favorite outfits from this post. I was so excited for this t-shirt. Sadly, it wasn't as great as I was hoping, but it's still cute. I was expecting it to be more of an off-white than super bright, and the design wasn't sublimated, but I'll make it work.

I decided to wear it over this favorite striped maxi dress from last year. The dress is not work appropriate on its own since it's strapless, so I decided to turn it into a skirt by tying the shirt up at the waist. I tried to use my twist-tee knot tool but got frustrated with it and just tied it the old-fashioned way, and it held all day.

For the first half of the day, I had a chunky, tan cable-knit cardigan over the top because the day started pretty chilly, but I lost it around sixth period and didn't put it back on for the picture.

I kind of fell in love with the idea of wearing yellow shoes with this look so I went with these butter-yellow mary jane espadrilles from Old Navy that I just picked up during a sale weekend. I like the overall effect, but let me just say that these were not made for lots of walking. They're comfortable, yes, but very flimsy.

Which look is your favorite?
