April Favorites: 6 Things I Loved + Your Favorites Too!

I don't know about you, but for me, April seemed to last even longer than January. I didn't know that was possible, but here we are.

We started the month with Alexis's birthday and Spring Break. Then there was end-of-the-year state testing that lasted seven days! Add in all the extra work I've been doing for this gifted certification course, and I am exhausted, y'all!

The good news? After I take this final on Monday, I will be officially done with this course, and there are only three weeks until summer break!

Here's a look at the things I loved most in April as well as the five most popular things I shared last month.

My Favorites from April

Old Navy Denim Vest - This has hands-down been my favorite recent purchase. I am wearing it all the time - with dresses, pants, skirts, everything. You guys loved it too. It made my list of best sellers for the month, tied in the #4 spot. Sadly, it's so popular that it's completely sold out, but the style is available in two other colors so I linked to it. Here's a really similar one by Levi's that's currently on sale and still available in all sizes.

Old Navy Clogs - I have always loved this style of shoes, and these ones from Old Navy are not only cute but also comfortable. I've worn them several times to teach in with no issues. Y'all loved them too. They also made the best sellers list for April.

e.l.f. Monochromatic Multi-Stick in Glistening Peach - I am not a bronzer girl. I'm so light-skinned that basically all shades are super obvious on me, and that's not how I like my makeup. But this color gives me a nice summer glow without being super obvious.

Maybelline Express Brow in Auburn - I've been using the same eyebrow powder from Mellow for years, and I love it - I really do. But it only being available online is inconvenient, especially since it's the only thing I order from this company with any regularity. That said, for a long time, it was the only eyebrow product I'd found that actually matched my hair color...until the day my students realized I had stopped filling them in (took them about a month surprisingly), and I made an emergency Walmart run in the hopes I could find something that would work. Maybelline came to my rescue! I really like that this pencil has the brow brush built in, and the color is nice. Now I have eyebrows again, and my students are no longer concerned with their lightness.

The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle - I love a good mystery book, and this one kept me guessing until the very end. It does have a bit of a magical twist, but it's not the focus of the book at all. Aiden Bishop is trapped inside Blackheath Manor with two other people. The only way out is to discover who murdered Evelyn Hardcastle before midnight, and there can only be one winner. Aiden experiences the day through eight different hosts, jumping from one to the next, spending twenty-four hours in each. The other two players only have one host but start each day with a blank slate, no memories. This gave me definite Agatha Christie vibes -- think And Then There Were None. It did take me most of the month to read because there are so many characters to keep track of; I appreciated that the author included a cast list at the beginning of the book that I could refer back to, otherwise I probably would have gotten confused.

Dr Teal's Calm & Serenity Foaming Bubble Bath with Rose Essential Oil - Y'all know I love me some Dr. Teal's bubble bath, and I think I've found a new favorite flavor. At first I was skeptical of the milky texture, but I quickly got over my concern because it is just so good. The rose scent is so calming and not as overwhelming as lavender can be (at least to me).

Your Favorites from April

1. Woven Brown Mary Janes - These mary janes from Target have been my most-worn shoe this Spring, and for good reason. They are just that good, and you obviously agreed since they have been in the top spot on my best sellers list for weeks. Sadly, this specific pair are only available online in two sizes. You might get lucky in your local store -- mine still has a few on the shelves. Lucky for you, there is a very similar pair on Amazon, which took the #2 spot on the best sellers list, but I'm combing them for obvious reasons..

2. Bluebird Floral Shop Graphic Tee - This one surprised me! Don't get me wrong -- I love this tee, but I was not expecting it to rank so high. It's still available in most sizes, and there are lots more designs you can choose from. It's currently marked down to $10.

3. White A-line Skirt - This skirt from Target is still going strong and still available in all sizes. It's so good y'all and absolutely worth paying full price, which isn't that high to begin with.

3. White Eyelet Mary Janes - These are my second most worn shoes this Spring. They're not quite as versatile as the brown mary janes, but they are great for a spring dress when you don't want to wear heels. They're still available in most sizes.

4. Puff Sleeve Blouse - This is a really nice blouse. So nice that I also have it in white, which I actually wear more than the black floral one y'all seem to favor. They're both great and still available in most sizes.

4. Button-Front Dress - This is such a cute dress. I've only worn it once so far (it's not school appropriate), but I've got big plans for it this summer. Beware that the v-neck is pretty deep on me and the length is about mid-thigh. It's still available in all sizes and comes in three other prints.

5. Black Linen Vest - I haven't actually gotten a lot of use out of this vest yet. It's meant to be worn on its own, but I found that it is much more fitted than in the model photos, even with sizing up, so I probably won't be wearing it that way. I do like it layered over a dress, but because of the sweetheart neckline that can be tricky. It's still available in all sizes and comes in three other colors.

5. Red Striped Linen Pants - I love these so much I just ordered another pair. I did size up in these, and I'm glad I did because they shrank a bit when I washed them, which actually helped with the length. They were about an inch or two too long, which is pretty typical for me. They're still available in most sizes.
