I cannot believe it's already time to start thinking about back-to-school shopping. Where did the summer go, y'all?
In all fairness, there's been a lot happening behind the scenes this summer that I haven't shared with you. It's still not the right time for me to share those things, so you'll have to be patient a little bit longer. Just know that there will be some pretty big changes for this upcoming school year in addition to the temporary classroom situation I mentioned when I shared my classroom wish list for this year.
Anyway, back to the back-to-school shopping. For the last few years, I've curated a back-to-school shopping post specifically for teachers. Then last year I also shared the things that I actually bought. This year, I find myself pretty underwhelmed by what I've seen in most stores, and it's way too hot here to be thinking about anything fall related, so I decided to skip the generic shopping guide and skip straight to what I've actually bought.
Full disclosure: I've been slowly adding these items to my closet pretty much all summer. I think all but two items were bought on sale.
Before we dive into this post, let's talk about the different ways you can shop these items. First, you can click on the big graphic and it will take you to a page with all of the items in one place. Second, you can click on each individual item in the list below the graphic. Finally, at the bottom of this post is a gallery of each item featured in this post; simply click the item you're interested in.

Patch Pocket Denim Dress -- I already have (and love) a corduroy pinafore dress, so I'm really excited about this denim one. It's technically a 'mini' length, but on me it's knee length. I got the medium wash, but it comes in several others, including corduroy.
NASHALYLY Skirts -- I recently added the brown floral and black flower to my closet (both pictured in the widget below). Sadly, the black flower is sold out, but the black floral-b and black floral-c are similar. They're gorgeous and easy to dress up or down.
Kirundo Floral Print Skirts -- I have this skirt in three different patterns, but this white red combo is the latest one I bought. I love how bright and fun it is.
Cicy Bell Striped Skirt -- I will admit that I'm not the biggest fan of the material of this skirt (I should have checked that before I ordered), but the fun colors make up for it. This one comes in a bunch of different options, including a few polka dot ones.
Cotton-Linen Skirts (not pictured) -- I know that I talk about these all the time, but I just added the white and black ones to my closet, and these are great for teaching in. I wrote a post all about them earlier this summer. You can read it here.
Floral Print Wide-Legged Pants -- I decided to give these a try after seeing Audrey over at Putting Me Together share them, and I'm so glad I did. They're so fun, and I know I'll get a lot of use out of them this school year.
Green Striped Pants -- These are so fun! I sized up to the 8 so they wouldn't be skin tight. They come in a bunch of different colors and patterns.
Black Linen Pants -- I actually got these at the beginning of the summer, but I did so with the intent of wearing these to work. I love Old Navy's wide-leg linen pants, and I didn't have a black pair of pants that I just love wearing to work.
Floral Jumpsuit -- I've been eying this jumpsuit for a long time and decided to take advantage of the Prime Day sales. The colors are not what I expected in person; I was expecting bright yellow and blue, but they're pretty muted in person. Still pretty, though, and I'll definitely wear it. I also have this one in the bright pink floral and purple floral.
Floral Print Blouse with Back Bow-Tie -- This one was a bit of a gamble, but it is so pretty in person. I love the bow tie detail on the back and the ruffled sleeves.
Green Floral Print Blouse -- How pretty is this blouse? It's got lots of great details, and I love the color.
Denim Tank -- I've been shopping for a top like this for awhile, and I'm so excited to style this one. Expect to see it a lot over the coming school year.
Oversized Jean Jacket -- I'm not getting rid of my tried-and-true jean jacket that I've had for years; I just wanted a looser-fitting one with the patch-style pockets.
Red V-Neck Sweater Vest -- I know I technically already have a red sweater vest, but it's really thick and chunky, so I'm kind of limited on when I can wear it. This one is thin, so I should be able to wear it most of the year.
Cushionaire Brown & Pink Mary Janes -- Oh my goodness, these are so comfortable!
Tan Platform Sandals -- I just ordered these and am cautiously optimistic. I like wearing platforms to work (so my students aren't quite so much taller than me), and these have great reviews in terms of comfort. They'll go with lots of stuff I already own.
Denim Tote Bag -- I've been eyeing these tote bags ever since Old Navy introduced them. I really love this denim one, so when it went on sale I snapped it up. This is the medium size, which will be perfect for everyday use.
