How is it the end of September already? This month has felt so drawn out but also I need it to last a little bit longer so I can get a few more things accomplished.
I told you last month that we had officially moved. Well, we're still technically in that process. We've swapped almost everything over -- driver's license, mail, etc. -- but we've not gotten much done yet in terms of updating the house.
Life has been busy! Hog show season has started, so our afternoons are spoken for for the next several months. Also, I've been put on two different committees at school, so I've got extra responsibilities again this year. Not to mention some changes to the way we're doing some of our lesson planning which I haven't quite adjusted to yet. I'm also still having to make what feels like constant on-the-fly changes throughout the week, so basically none of my lesson plans are going the way I plan them. It's fine.
And that's really it for my life this past month. Now onto the things that made it all a little bit better and the ten most popular things I've shared.
My Favorites
Pen+Gear Gel Pens -- These were an impulse buy that I 1000 percent do not regret. I am loving the little bit of nostalgia I get every time I use them, and I am using them pretty much every day. With 48 colors to choose from, including neon and glitter versions, my inner child is celebrating.
Teacher Stamps -- These were a gift from my mother last year, so I've been using them for awhile but this past month especially as I've been grading my students' first long-form writing assignment.
e.l.f. Sheer for It Blush Tint in Plums Up -- Once I figured out how to apply this, I fell in love.
CoverGirl Clean Lip Color in River Plum -- Seeing a pattern in my color choices? I've always favored more of a purple tint in my lipsticks
Spa Headband -- I'm still not quite sure if it's doing anything special, but I've been using this pretty much every morning.
Purple Floral-Moth Mesh Skirt Outfit -- This is probably my favorite outfit of the entire month. I love everything about it. No other notes.
Neutral Floral Skirt & Sweater Outfit -- This is actually the first outfit I wore this month, and it's such a good one. It was also extremely comfortable, so win-win.
Blue Mary Janes -- I've been wearing these a lot lately. They feel very fall appropriate, although I can't really explain why. They're also very comfortable for all-day wear, and y'all know I rarely sit down at school.
The Gifted School -- This book was not on my radar at all. I'd never even heard of it when I found it on my library's shelves, but as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to read it. I had no expectations going into it, but it wasn't what I was expecting. In the best way. If you were a gifted kid, currently have a gifted kid, teach gifted kids, or just know a gifted kid, you should read this book. It was so damn good.
The Starfish Sisters -- Y'all know I love Barbara O'Neal, and this book did not disappoint in the least. It made me cry, which you know means I have to recommend it. It's about two friends who are more like sisters who find their way back to each other through some really terrible life events.
Your Favorites
Woven Straw Belts -- These belts are still at the top of the list this month. If you need a sign to add them to your closet, here it is. They're great. I wear them multiple times a week.
Woven Mary Jane Flats -- These are such a great shoe for transitioning to fall, especially if you live somewhere that the temperature won't drastically change until much later in the season.
Short Sleeve Tan Sweater -- I picked this up from Target not that long ago. It's very soft and a good transition piece, especially for places where it stays warm/hot until after Halloween.
Neutral Skechers Cleo Flats -- I'll be the first to admit that these aren't the cutest flats I own, but they might be the most comfortable. These exact ones are no longer available on the Skechers website, but they are available in some sizes on amazon. These Frank Mully flats look almost exactly the same.
Rocketdog White Sneakers -- I've been wearing these a lot lately. Very comfy.
Green Striped Pants -- These pants are so fun and comfy. They come in a bunch of other colors, too.
Denim Tank -- This top is so versatile.
Old Navy Platform Sandals -- These were my favorite sandals over the summer. They're still available in some sizes.
Red Polka Dot Skirt -- This skirt is back in stock finally. I love it so much. Fair warning, though: it's incredibly sheer, so you'll need to wear something under it. I usually wear this half slip.
Dusty Rose Chiffon Skirt -- This might be my favorite of those viral NASHALYLY skirts that I own. It's so pretty.
