12 Winter Outfit Ideas to Copy Right Now

I cannot believe we are halfway through December already. Between Alexis being sick for a couple weeks, rushing to get the next magazine finished early, and trying to knock out Christmas shopping, it's been a whirlwind of a month so far.

Our weather has been kind of all over the place, so I've been relying pretty heavily on layers...or I end up changing into a t-shirt halfway through the day.

This edition of Real Outfit Roundup also has three bonus outfits, which have already been shared on the blog, but I wanted to include them here, as well, just in case you missed that particular post.

Sizing info: I'm 5'2" and weigh around 150 lbs. I typically wear size 6 or small in most clothing and size 7 in shoes.

I honestly don't remember much about what all went on this day. I feel like I was at my desk for most of it, working to get the December digital magazine up and running. This is one of my favorite styles of blouses from Old Navy. They're long enough that I can wear them with leggings if I want but they also work tucked into a skirt or high-waisted pants. This particular one is a few years old, but they've pretty much always got something in this style.

This was the day my December magazines were delivered. After several days of Alexis being sick, I had a minimal to-do list outside of that. I had been hanging out in the garage for a good bit waiting on my delivery guy to get here when I decided to snap a pic to document my outfit, mostly because these joggers are so good. They're nice and thick and really nice quality - no pilling on the inside thighs!

This was a distribution day that turned into more than we'd planned on when the weather decided not to cooperate. We ended up doubling what we'd intended to get done that morning...and got rained on quite a bit. It was pretty chilly, especially once it started to rain, so I was glad for my sweatshirt. Full disclosure, it's cropped, but since I'm so short it's not a problem for me with mid-rise jeans. Unfortunately, this exact design is no longer available, but they've got a few others to choose from.

I'm not going to lie. This day was a mixed bag. I got asked to judge a holiday photo contest by one of my biggest clients for the magazine, so I actually put some effort into my outfit for the day. Then, on the way to the event, I was rear-ended. Luckily there was no damage to either car, although I don't really understand how, and no one was hurt beyond some next-day stiffness from where the seatbelt locked up, but it still rattled me pretty badly.

Anyway, this dress is very pretty, but beware that the top has zero give. It's not quite a halter top, but pretty close. The straps are adjustable, and I had to let them all the way out. It wasn't uncomfortable, but if you're more blessed than I am in the chest area, it's definitely something to consider. This sweater, on the other hand, is perfect.

This is one of those bonus outfits I mentioned in the intro. This, and the next two, are from my Christmas outfit idea post, so I'm not going to say much on them.

This was kind of a gloomy day. We went to a few stores, let Alexis pick out her Christmas ornament for this year, and were supposed to go to our favorite light display but it stormed. I took this picture for my Monat hair care group (go join if you want fun content, exclusive sales, and advice for all types of hair), which is why I've got those boxes. Sadly, our gift set sale has ended, but if you want to sign up as a seller you can get a free pack of some of our best sellers.

Anyway, both my shirt and pants are old, but the shirt is still available. You can't tell in the picture since I'm sitting down, but it's tunic length and has a twisted hem.

Yes, I actually did wear the green dress from my Christmas post out! We went to an old-fashioned Christmas festival, something I've always wanted to go to. I'm so glad it worked out this year. I had a lot of fun. (See pictures here)

This dress is really nice. The skirt is lined so it's not see-through. The waist is smocked and has plenty of stretch. The straps are adjustable, and the neckline has a sweet little ruffle detail. Sadly, it does not have pockets.

I was so, so busy on this day. My to-do list was so long I couldn't fit everything onto that day in my planner. But this sweater more than made up for it. It is so dang soft! It's slightly fitted, but in a slouchy way, which I know doesn't make sense, but there you have it.

I've seen a bunch of posts from other bloggers I follow about how to wear booties with straight-leg jeans. You all know that I love my boyfriend straight jeans from Old Navy, which hit right around my ankle, leaving just enough space between the hem and the boot shaft to show a little leg or a little sock. When it's cold out, like it was this day, socks are preferable, especially when they're cute! It's hard to tell here, but these have hearts on them.

I spent this particular afternoon shopping with my dad. It's become a bit of a tradition the last few years, and something I look forward to doing. We don't get a lot of one-on-one time these days, so I'll take any I can get.

Anyway, I was all about comfort this day, and these leggings are so amazingly soft. They're like butter and the softest pair I own. They're very opaque, but like with most leggings are a few inches too long for me. I just tuck them into my boots or roll them under to compensate. My sweatshirt is a couple years old, but I found some similar ones for you.

You guys really loved this outfit when I shared it on my social this week. I wasn't sure if all the shades of black and gray really worked together, but according to all of you, I pulled it off.

This is one of my favorite tanks. I actually ordered another one in a different print, that's how much I love it. My washed-black jeans are from last year, but Old Navy has an almost exact pair. I found my sweater in the little girls' section at Target. It was half the price of a nearly exact one in the women's section. I got it in an XL, although I'm pretty certain the L would have worked, too. Sadly, it's not available anymore, since I got it back in July.

My boots are brand new. I actually got them this week, using a gift card I received for judging a contest. I've been wanting a pair of Chelsea boots for awhile, but just hadn't found a pair I really loved. Either the heel wasn't the right height or the shaft was too tall or some combination of the two. But this pair is perfect!
