Monday Motivation

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Our weekend was super busy, but I think we all had a lot of fun.

Since Alexis's birthday was in the middle of the week, and she had to go to school, we kind of split our celebrating between two weekends. We had her gnome art party the weekend before, and this weekend we had an adventure of sorts.

It all started with a fun paint party fundraiser for the Young Farmers group in my hometown.

We made succulent planter boxes. Well, we didn't make them. We just decorated them and planted the succulents. Alexis even got to make her own little succulent pot. It was a lot of fun.

Then on Saturday we spent the day at an area spring festival. We hung out with the Easter bunny and giant Peep, shopped with local vendors, had lunch at one of the best Italian restaurants I've ever eaten at, made some new furry friends, and ended the day with frozen yogurt.

That was probably the most fun I've had at a festival in years. Possibly because of experiencing it through Alexis, but honestly it was such a good festival. The atmosphere was a lot different than other festivals I've been to, the people were all friendly and courteous, and there was a variety of things to interest pretty much everyone. We were there pretty close to when it opened and we stayed for the duration, which I can't recall ever happening for any other festival I've attended.

Alexis's birthday was on Thursday, but since it was a school day we weren't able to really celebrate it. But we let her choose our dinner menu, blueberry pancakes, and we had a surprise waiting on her after school, a 4.5 foot tall wooden dollhouse, so I think it was a successful day nonetheless.

This week is a short week school-wise with Good Friday. I'll be finishing up my April magazine distribution today (they were late this month so I'm behind), then really focusing on our May issue. The April issue didn't turn out quite like I'd anticipated so I'll be trying to make up for that with May. We're also getting our house ready to list so we're cleaning out and sprucing up.

Coming up this week on the blog, I'm going to be sharing my process for cleaning out my closet, specifically how I decide what to keep, what to toss, and what to donate or sell. I'm also putting together my annual Mother's Day Gift Guide, and it's time for another Real Outfit Roundup, so definitely stay tuned.

I hope everyone has a great week!
