Summer doesn't officially start until June 20th, but everyone who's anyone knows that it really starts with Memorial Day weekend...or if you're a teacher, when school lets out. So we're one week into summer vacation, and I've got a few goals for my time off.
Clothing/Shoe Cleanout - My closet has gotten over-full, which actually makes getting dressed difficult. It needs a good clean-out and refresh to fit my current style and life. I've already started working on this, but there's still work to do.
Get Back to Embroidery - I had to put this newly-acquired hobby to the side toward the end of February. Life got really busy, and I just didn't have the mental capacity to include it with all the things I had to do. I'm excited to get back to it, though, now that I'm not balancing school in the spring with that ridiculously intensive gifted certification course.
Summer Reading - If you know me, then you know that my ultimate goal is to read all the books this summer. Part of this includes getting caught up on my One Woman Book Club; I am currently one month behind. I also plan on crossing some of the unread books off my Winter and Spring book lists; I had the best of intentions with these, but you know what they say about those. I'm also planning a summer reading list, as well, so be on the lookout for that.
Spend as much time around water as possible - What's summer without water? We got season passes to our local water park this year, so you can expect at least weekly trips there, but I also want to go to the lake, river, and/or beach as many times as I possibly can this summer.
Day Trips - I think people underestimate the power of a good day trip. There are lots of fun adventures within driving distance just waiting to happen. One I know I want to take for sure is to this Alice in Wonderland experience at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.
What are your goals for this summer?
