Monday Motivation + My Goals for 2021

by - January 11, 2021

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you all had a refreshing weekend. Other than running a couple of errands on Saturday, I didn't do anything worth mentioning. Alexis spent the weekend with her grandparents so I slept in, which was nice, and read a couple of books.

Today is going to be rainy and cold. We've had a lot of that recently. It's completely thrown off my distribution schedule for this month, so I'll be finishing that up this week unfortunately. Otherwise, it'll be business as usual, including here on the blog. I had a few things planned for last week, but life just did not work out the way I had planned for it to, as is often the case. I'm shifting a good bit of that content to this week so stay tuned.

Remember when I admitted that I didn't accomplish any of the goals I set for 2020? I've been struggling with that, honestly, because I've never not accomplished what I set out to do. Of course, I was being way too hard on myself considering all that 2020 brought. It just took me a little while to get there. Then, I sat down and wrote out some goals for this year.

-Rebuild. 2020 took a lot from my magazine, namely all the momentum it had picked up in 2019. So this year will be focused on getting that back.

-Be more intentional with social media. It's often on the backburner of my mind, and that's something that needs to change.

-Share more parenting resources. This one just seems like a no brainer. I'm the publisher of a parenting magazine, after all.

-Write more for the magazine's website. We have a blog section that is woefully neglected.

-Have a better household chore routine. Namely, don't let dirty dishes pile up and don't leave laundry for the weekend (a habit from college that I need to break).

-Write a little every day. Preferably a solid hour.

-Spend time outside daily. That's something I started last summer, and it was so good for my mental health.

-Take a damn vacation, even if it's just a weekend.

-Schedule more time with friends.
